Also, be able to upload multiple pics in the main post would be nice ( If it is possible can anyone tell me how??)

  • It seems like the real thing boils down to individual use case. WebP & WebM being a Google project has me uncertain out the gate. Looking at the format variances highlights this aspect:

“A few studies suggest that WebP compresses data more efficiently than JPEG or JPEG 2000. The benefits of file size reduction are especially noticeable for smaller files.”

“A well-optimized JPEG can be as good as or better than WebP at the higher end of the quality spectrum.”

“One of the main drawbacks of WebP is not all browsers support it yet. Only about 80% of the existing browsers offer WebP support.”

“PNG photos are of higher quality (lossless) and the texts are clear.”

So, for basic use WebP has an obvious benefit, but went photo editing and overall clarity are considered, then PNG or JPEG seems to be more reasonable.

To up load multiple pics you can use PNGs and throw them together in a simple editor making one file. Hopefully this won’t be needed in the near future though.

Trust me, people hate when they download something and its in the webm format due to some devices and applications simply refusing to support it.

You can link multiple pictures in the message body, as shown. You can use ![](link-to-image) to show embedded images in the body of posts and comments. Click “Show source” to see how its done. Most instances will also allow you to upload pictures directly, giving you a link.
