https://sciencecast.org/casts/suc384jly50n Korean team claims superconducting at room temperature and atmospheric pressure
Oh cool are they attempting to replicate that one paper? I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it
Might want to edit your title to specify “room temperature superconducting.”
Done - thanks
This whole ordeal reminds me of a similar little adventure into cold fusion in the 90s
Dont forget about faster than light neutrinos
What am I looking at exactly here?
The step that is now nearing completion is synthesizing Lanarkite (I think that’s what it says on the paper) which is Pb2SO3, at 725°C for 24 hours. The overall goal is to replicate a recent paper about a room-temperature standard pressure superconductor. The timer is near 0 now so hopefully we’ll see some action not just a kiln
Did we see anything? They are offline whenever I check but it seems they were live about 20m ago?

They pulled it out, died the camera what kinda looked to be either a whitish powder or liquid b to the camera in a crucuble, then just ended stream after ricign the camera a thumbs up? Not sure what happened from there
Very odd. I’d have thought they were gonna go for one take as much as possible, but I guess not.
Same, not sure why they stopped. Maybe something came up where they couldn’t film?
It looks like they’re currently baking(?) the material, and will test it afterwards (I’m no expert)
