A car driving with a bull in it was pulled over by police in northeast Nebraska’s biggest city.

Don’t worry, he didn’t steer.

Norfolk Police Capt. Chad Reiman said it didn’t take long for officers to track down the modified Ford Crown Victoria sedan with a bull riding shotgun after a 911 call about it driving on the main highway entering the city of roughly 24,000 Wednesday morning.

“We didn’t have a full understanding of it until we saw it,” Reiman said.

The car that Lee Meyer has driven in parades across the area for years has half the windshield and roof removed to make room for his bull, named Howdy Doody, to ride along. A yellow metal cattle gate serves as the passenger side door — allowing for the Watusi bull to be tied up — and a set of longhorns serves as a hood ornament.

As a native Nebraskan, I take great offense at the “northeast Nebraska’s biggest city” phrasing. What a weirdly specific way to refer to an otherwise average small town. We’re already a joke, why rub it in and imply Omaha or Lincoln don’t exist?

Yep. It has a population of 24,967. As someone who has been there multiple times, it’s quite small. NE Nebraska is just not very populated in general.

Honestly, I’d rather the bull riding all chillax like that than trying to attack people and vehicles in the street. I don’t see any problem here. 👍

“We didn’t have a full understanding of it until we saw it”

I had the same reaction to this headline… yep, that’s an accurate headline.

I mean… I’m sure it was shocking to see the bull and horn show roll down the road… but I’d have just laughed it off as hilarious… not ever considering calling 911 to have the poor dude pulled over.

Who does that? Also… would have loved to see the cops face when he had to walk up to the car! Hahaha 🤣

While I probably wouldn’t get involved…. That guy is a menace to society driving like that.

The bill probably weighs half the weight of the car. And the car is certainly beyond weight capacity. It’s structural integrity is also compromised in an crash.

Those tires are certainly not rated for the load, either, and worst case scenario in a crash, that bull is going to go flying, not die and become the kind of road hazard that gets people killed.

And what happens if the gate thingy fails and falls open on a highway? What Happens when the bull shits all over the car/truck/whatever behind them and causes that driver to crash?

If the driver is dumb enough to think this was a good idea… what else is he up to…?

and a set of longhorns serves as a hood ornament.

Like come on, the bull’s actual horns aren’t enough of a hood ornament?
