Highly disagree, i think this is what leads an instance to become the same evil meta/big corps are. Instances in my opinion should have every right to block instances/content which are illegal and would get them in trouble, but they shouldn’t block instances due to their own ideologies. Let the user de-federate themselves, client side, if the user wishes to.
Ever heard of Mastodon blocklists? I mean defederation has been happening for a while.
