Apparently “utopian communities” are actually intentional communities following a utopian model and they don’t like to be referred to as “utopian communities” because it’s considered prejorative.

I don’t know what this means. What is a utopian model? If they don’t like people using that name, why do they call it that?
I tried searching, but various things came up, including utopian socialism. Since the city in the article mentioned hiring private companies to do everything, I can only assume that’s not it.
