I do not know whether anybody else has already said this, but Lemmy could really use a feature that would allow individual users to block instances. I think it could have spared some of the defederation word wars that have been going on lately, since that would be an individual choice rather than a collective one.
Just a thought.
It is currently in development: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/3869
Glad to see that. Personally I really enjoy having my worldview challenged, but I can also get behind why others do not.
You want me to test the limits of that enjoyment? (Hint: you don’t. Trust me on this.)

I believe present best workaround is to set your home feed to show Subscribed.
Thanks. Changing feed does not solve the “brigading”, though, so I can see why many resort to calling for defederation or changing instance.
It’s been requested repeatedly. Glad to see it’s on the roadmap.
I can do this through the Connect app? I blocked a porn instance that way (you do you folks I’m not into it).
If you’re a macOS user, try Leomard. Leomard has a client-side option to screen out specific instances from your view.
@Masimatutu Agree with you, it definitely should be an individual choice rather than a collective one, instead of users having to decide which instance they want to be on based on whatever drama is happening currently.
Lemmy-client app can did this now. If you use iOS, you can try memmy. This app can filter keywords or instance.
I hope there’s going to be a feature to block just posts from specific instance.
