He demands it, but doesn’t enforce it. So only empty words then. And he should keep his mouth shut about this anti-abortion crap
Yeah but who is going to actually intervene?
True
Yeah that may be. Another reason could be that they just don’t care what technology will be used in 2035, they just NOW want to get people’s votes and thus try to please them with these decisions and take away the common (but irrational) fear that people cannot drive their beloved combustion cars in the future. Doesn’t matter if electric cars will be cheaper and better by then through market mechanisms alone despite any regulatory requirements. But right now, conservative voters don’t want a ban on IC cars, so this is what conservative parties decide
The claims about the Chinese having superior European ESG compliance and Cybersecurity are hard to believe, but could be that they just have the resources (and speed) to get their products to comply, while European competitors are too slow. But then again, could also be that it’s just about the price tag in the end and they just want to hide this fact by stating other reasons
Yeah probably. They will find a way to effectively circumvent the legal requirements while still technically be compliant
The EU battery regulation requires all portable batteries to be removable and replaceable by the end user, starting 2026. So I guess that means no specialized tooling or repair training required, or the tools will have to be included with the phone
This. It’s a delay tactic
