Yeah, it almost looks like you’d be able to run things faster than natively on windows, which is why I’m suspicious (not that it’s a lie just that the numbers lack context). It doesn’t say what the numbers represent I think?

I think if other people like it a lot then it works for them, part of liking Minecraft for me is traveling but I don’t think everyone has that and just want to get one with building or finding a structure
Yeah, I agree with the elytra bit in that it’s frustrating you not really exploring the world but rather just skipping over everything. But at the same time I don’t use elytra when I play so I can’t really say I wish it never existed; there’s always the option to not use something but I wish they’d used the same development time to make something else.
It’d be nice to have a pacifist ending, killing a dragon doesn’t really fit with the whole game but then again it’s not the true end
Pretty big in my experience
Even my dad couldn’t convince me to read snowcrash😅 but maybe I’ll find it as an ebook
I love that English has a way of marking nouns/verbs in a sentence but I hate that when written it’s completely erased (although sometimes a comma can help) “The old man the ship” threw me for like 5 minutes before I realised that man can be a verb.
I would say English has the least variety in terms of accent, though stardardization can definitely be important (regional British English from old people can be super annoying if English isn’t your native language)
I think mandatory care is the way to go, if the government knows that you have an addiction it seems silly to do anything but make sure you have the tools to quit and have no option but to quit. People will do whatever is convenient, path of least resistance and all, there’s just no incentive for an addict to report themselves if they’re gonna be thrown in prison for it.
I think all the proposed medication to slow aging is cheap. Although I can unfortunately imagine some horrible world where the prices go up just because people want it and the patent stops other companies making it. (Can we just like not have patents last longer than 5 years)
This is actually a really interesting question, personally never. Not like heat death of the universe never but I don’t feel like there’s a point in theoretical forever young immortality where I would want to die, there’s always more shit to do and I’ve never felt like I need to up my game or something. I’m curious what you guys think though
Cleo Abrams did a good video on that and her conclusion is that if the stuff does work it’s not some magic reversal or absolute no aging ever technology, I think we’ve got a whole world away before we can get no aging. Adding a few years to someone’s life or more realistically preventing diseases due to faulty organs is something we can all benefit from. I don’t even know if this stuff will be done during my lifetime but I can hope that the next generation won’t have to watch themselves break down slowly.
My great/granddad/uncle’s woodworking tools and hammer. For my 17th birthday he just gave me a ton of them and I couldn’t have been happier, they’re made of really nice brass and spruce I think and they work wonders. Mfer says it’s not worth much and proceeded to give me a tungsten carbide (world’s sharpest alloy) plane that I maintain to this day. Also Beaver craft tools from Ukraine hold up pretty well and funnily enough come with a plaster because they’re goofy goobers.
Had a teacher tell some students that it’s rude to speak a foreign language in school (an international school)
Yeah it’s weird to see butterknives on public sites being confiscated as they’re clearly a dangerous weapon. But surprisingly knife crime is really low compared to most of the world (yes I mean America)
What annoys me more is that they’re British (/j). But nah they’re hardly foreign it’s just like their grandad or great grandad, you could make an equal claim that trump is German I think (off the top of my head).
Interestingly heat spreads better than cold (I’m not an entirely reliable source for this so take it with a big grain of salt) but essentially since hot things are more energetic they have a tendency to spread but since cold things are more static, cooling is more difficult. Also radiators use blackbody radiation to emit heat via light the same way metal heats up when hot whereas there’s no cold equivalent to this.
I’m really sorry to hear you have that experience that sounds awful, the concept of poor clothes doesn’t exist everywhere though so I’m not really sure what to say, I really wish I could’ve worn whatever I liked at school since I had to wear coats in summer at the cost of my health (my skin kinda sucks ngl) and the uniform they asked us to buy was so expensive and ill fitting. Again, you’ve got a different experience and I respect that.
Not having to hide who you are is a human right, I get where stuff like this is coming from but if there was a rule to hide all symbols of sexualities to protect people it’d become pretty obvious that it’s homophobic. Being able to exist in public shouldn’t require making changes to yourself.
As everyone has said, lossless compression might not have great ratios, but if it’s still worth it I recommend dwarfs as it creates read only mountable filesystems with minimal setup https://github.com/mhx/dwarfs
