Nobody said it is, but stopping people walking down the street with literal swords is probably helping.

It’s interesting you are saying it’s 6" like that’s not a bad thing when the law in the UK is no longer than 3".
I guess if it is plastic the sentence seems a bit harsh, but you would also get in trouble for a plastic replica gun that looked realistic. Seems like he has plenty of priors which is probably more the issue.
All in all, not oniony.
EDIT: It doesn’t seem plastic
Important to note that this wasn’t just a prop. The blade was sharp.
Man arrested for walking down street with sword has been sentenced.
Is it meant to be oniony because it is a video game sword?
Racism isn’t inherently a political issue and isn’t the whole story of slavery, but is a major factor when talking about enslaving a race. However, its close relationship to other major factors like colonialism, nationalism, supremacism and xenophobia, as well as financial structures allowing such enslavement and ownership, are all found well to the right of the spectrum.
No. “Republican” does not equal “Right wing”. Maybe in the modern context, but political parties evolve and shift on the left right scale over time. The Republican party was originally established as a less Conservative opposition to the Democrats.
Besides, the policial party pushing for the thing is surely much less important than the thing itself. The act of enslaving a portion of the population, based entirely on racial divisions, is an extremely right wing position.
Interesting choices. I think the only valid one there would be the second attempt on Gerald Ford (Sara Jane Moore), who wanted to spark a revolution.
The first attempt on him was by one of the Mason Family (Lynette Fromme), who were sometimes described as hippies, but were also keen on bringing about a race war.
John Wilkes Booth seems surprising to call left leaning, as he was pro-confederacy and angry about the abolition of slavery.
Lee Harvey Oswald was a Soviet defector, and did indeed call himself a socialist. However there’s the whole probable scenario that he wasn’t actually the shooter and never went on trial.
To mention other presidential assassinations, there’s Charles J. Guiteau, assassin of President James A. Garfield, who was a loyal republican, but felt he was personally wronged by the President (as well as mental illness).
Leon Czolgosz, assassin of President William McKinley would probably support your hypothesis more than the others, as an anarchist.
All in all, not really overwhelmingly left leaning.
Not very oniony.
But they hit so many buzzwords. 20 year old buzzwords even!
Yeah I understand they were all 6th gen. My point was just that it doesn’t really make sense to blame the Dreamcast failure on its timing. Dates also matter:
Late 98 was release in Japan
Late 99 was release worldwide
Early 2000 was PS2 in Japan
Late 2000 was PS2 worldwide
Early 2001 Dreamcast was killed
Late 2001/Early 2002 Gamecube and Xbox
The meme makes it look like the Dreamcast popped up late, but timing was not the reason for it’s demise at all. PlayStation dominating the market, as you mentioned, was probably the biggest one. People knew the PS2 was around the corner and the Dreamcast had barely been out in the EU by the time the PS2 was strutting it’s stuff on the Japanese market.
Yeah, I’m of the opinion the Saturn was the real problem. It was not a bad step forward compared to the Megadrive, but compared to the PS1 it was nowhere near as good.
Dreamcast was a great console. It was really ahead of it’s time with a bunch of things, the VMUs, the internet connectivity, the range of peripherals and keyboard/mouse integration. It was the first console I ever got relatively near release and never regretted it.
This is a really odd way of putting it seeing as the Dreamcast came out before the PS2 and was discontinued before the other 2 even came out.
It’s not even that bad. Try watching The Postman.
Is there such a thing as a demaster? If so, this is it.
But we all know the old adage:
Guns don’t kill people, helicopters do.
But who is going to implement the AI policy? I thought they sacked everyone.
A remaster is in no way the same as the original. I understand you’re putting forward the business reason for it being delisted, and that is probably the true reason, but that doesn’t make it less scummy.
This article makes me wonder if it was becoming insanely expensive to produce. It always seemed like an expensive choice to sign Rod Humble to make his own studio from scratch in California. They are probably very glad to get that off the expenses.
It doesn’t seem likely at the moment. It’s a whole mess and it doesn’t look like the outcome is going to benefit the original creators, the usurpers, or us fans.
I’m very surprised by the discourse in this thread. I understand that people were given lots of warning, but that doesn’t excuse that they just had their purchase recinded. Why not just allow download of an old version of Minecraft Java still?
I’d consider myself a Microsoft fanboy as I’ve had Xbox live for nearly 2 decades and Game Pass since it came into existence. Removing people’s purchases for any reason is a scummy move.
I know there’s a constant scare about UK knife crime, but compared to other countries it’s really not the epidemic it’s made out to be.
