I just started using it today after seeing a comment on it, it may have been yours and it seems fantastic, I took a look at their demo searches and it reminded me of old google while still keeping elements from new google I find useful, and being able to disable or disable any feature I want is amazing.
I haven’t dug in too deep on making my own lenses yet, since they had some very sensible defaults (I mean seriously they have a default lemmy/fediverse lens) but that feature seems incredibly cool and useful if I want to set up something to easily search a variety of niche, focused websites on a subject I want to search on a regular basis.
I was worried about it not featuring conversions/math stuff but prepared to use WolframAlpha for that, but it included them, the only thing is oddly after providing the answer to my test math query of 88+17 it showed search results from the quran and the bible lol. But I suppose that was just a minor oddity.
1 unit of acid, a unit of acid being defined as the amount of acid needed to melt a 250 pound pig.
Currently playing fallout New Vegas modded on Linux! Of course if you already did it, remodding and transferring the saves would be frustrating, but it is actually pretty simple once you learn how to use Steam Tinker Launch.
forget about gaming, start working out, there’s this really great guru I recommend called fitgirl who will really help you repack that six pack.
I used to avoid extra responsibilities, and I still don’t have kids, and I don’t do charity. In the past moving to stressful positions was financially motivated. But my current job as a patient advocate is extremely rewarding to me. It’s the first time I felt I had a job that meant something and I am fulfilled by making impact in individual lives. I’ve had people call me a life-saver, and have had patients shed tears after I was able to help them. Sometimes my job is not so great, and some things are routine and go by thanklessly, but the moments I am able to be a difference motivates me.
This is the first job I’ve participated and engaged in more than just the basic requirements, because I see what I do and what my colleagues do as meaningful and valuable, beyond making a CEO their paycheck. I go as far in my job to actually reduce GDP I suppose, steering people towards options that are best for them, even if they don’t generate direct profits for my company. I feel like a real person here, and that’s why I take on more responsibilities. (it also will help me financially in the long run, but that is less of a primary factor for me now)
TBH tho I usually just use recent activity, but having genres, mechanics, and “vibes” helps me find the game I’m in the mood to install and play. Some of the catagories are essentially useless tho as most people who tag games have no clue what certain genre’s actually are, so I have to curate some of these I care about, I have too many games to do it without steam tags though.
Assetto Corsa?
“Of course they don’t stop progress… you’ll just be stuck grinding for way way longer with our patented unfuntm systems unless you pay, peasant valued consumer”
Oh absolutely, and making something creative takes days, weeks, months.
Drama, complaining, conspiracy theorizing, and hate-videos take a few minutes to make more than the video itself lasts.
A lot of shitty things are done under the guise of, “It makes me feel uncomfortable”
Trans people especially, anything to do with them really, Oh I make you uncomfortable, guess we will just magically stop existing.
And for the uncomfortable people out there, most times the “stop existing” thing, comes in the form of unaliving because we aren’t cis like everyone else… that’s kinda the whole thing
our glorious pig’s glorious lipstick of the highest caliber*
Oh I forgot I was @Kyatto here >.>
That was silly of me, Thanks Zink <3
kyattophilic?
Well not only do you deserve to exist, but I am glad you exist.
thank you -
Of course, I do enjoy the fantasy, especially on the precipice of an election that decides my right of existence.
The walls were to keep us in, not the other way around, after all.
That would be a great thing but I also had another idea, why can’t a test be devised and codified into law, to tie minimum wage to. I know the main reasons why, obstructionist capitalists, but a test to find a living wage, average rent costs tied with other bill expenses and grocery costs. The companies raising costs feel free but the minimum wage will rise. Could something like this work? Tie wages and service/goods costs together to incentivize either livable/thrivable wages or lower costs. either way we need one of those two things, more buying power, or… more buying power.
Something to stop the decages long stagnation of worker compensation.
Fair but you also can’t really judge someone for not using epic and disliking them when they can’t use epic because they won’t support their OS. Also the percentage is growing, steam is supporting and improving, and Epic is going to be far behind when they realize they should have supported linux too.
it’s getting more obvious they are going to pull the rug, admittedly I haven’t followed too much on the situation or on reddit at all since I stopped using reddit almost a decade ago. the site really went to shit didn’t it. I just grab my popcorn when new updates pop up these days, all reddit is for me now is an end result from a google search about a problem.
As it is running sudo with a long process is annoying missing and having to reenter my password or missing and the process timing out if I go afk to wait, I can’t imagine having to type my password every few moments when I run an upgrade. Surely this is not the pitch. This is already looking dead in the water if so, and god help me if I have to remember to type run0.
