What gets me about this change is that it hurts enterprise more than anybody. I don’t use chrome anymore for anything in my personal life, and haven’t in several years now. However, it’s the only browser I can use for work. 🤷🏻♂️

So September 2025ish is when I need to decide which Linux distro to go with.
For what it’s worth I’ve had Google Fi for eight years. My bill has never increased, and we have unlimited data. I’m on a plan with my wife and her dad and we pay 167 per month for all three lines including insurance on two phones (12/month total). We are in an area with 5G coverage, it speed tests between 100-300 Mbps generally.
Sure they could kill it at any time but 🤷🏻♂️
Now pretend your electric blower is actually a super loud and inefficient two stroke motor.
The movement of air isn’t noisy, the motor is.
Idk what newsgroups are
Meanwhile pirating content and streaming it has never been easier. Jellyfin and private trackers ftw
I don’t think it would matter what it was, I’m not doing an entire OS reinstall to “upgrade” to an inferior experience. If it can’t apply the update itself, it’s not going on until it absolutely has to, and even then it’s looking more likely to be Linux next boot install.
Mine can run it but requires reinstalling my entire OS because something in the bios wasn’t enabled before it was installed. I mean…okay that’s certainly a design choice but I’m 100% not doing that
It blows my mind how slow mine is now. I don’t even use the UI really, I only switch between ps5 and my shield tv, but that switch takes SO LONG
If Reddit is toxic to you, then you must be one of them.
Well that’s not very nice.
What metric do posts with no user engagement push though? From an analytics standpoint I don’t see the value prop
I still use reddit for some of the niche and sports communities that just aren’t really present on Lemmy (or not yet at least). I only use old reddit, and I only use my front page or the multis I curated myself. One thing I’ve noticed a lot lately is posts with zero upvotes and usually zero comments appearing in hot, top, and best filters. Most of these are absolute trash posts that were clearly posted by a bot.
I do not understand what benefit they’re seeking by shoving bad posts with no positive feedback into these sorting options but it’s fuckin weird.
His bodyweight only A/B is BRUTAL. Like in a get great results but you also feel like you’re going to die way.
This will not directly answer your question but while perusing at work I came across darebee.com , which is a fitness website run like Wikipedia. There are no ads whatsoever. There’s a video library showing how to do tons of exercises. Workout programs can be filtered based on your equipment availability and ability level, and everything is available in a PDF download absolutely free.
Really cool site, give it a look.
Even for a teaser, that was some hot diarrhea.
Your first download should be a guide on punctuation my brother.
If not Threads, how do we turn this FOSS venture free of corporate interference into a new avenue for a mega corporation to harvest all of our data for profit?
If not Threads, how will we ever ruin this place by turning it into Reddit?
If not Threads, who will I shill for?
Picking a better instance for your main is most advisable. Users can accept that the primary benefit of a free and open source federated service can also sometimes inconvenience them, or they cannot. Complaining about the core mechanic of the technology that literally cannot change is silly IMO. Corporate owned centralization leads to enshittification. Your account age indicates that you know that first hand.
Reddit syndrome still affects a lot of users here, who view having multiple accounts on different answers as an inconvenience instead of a feature of the platform design. The irony is that tons of users on Reddit had lots of accounts without batting an eye, but that extra step of having to lick a new instance is just SO complicated.
There is absolutely nothing difficult to use in Firefox. If anything it’s easier, as most of the settings aren’t arbitrarily hidden to prevent you from changing them. There are also fewer bullshit settings because they aren’t harvesting your data.
