    Dog Attack Statistics by Breed

Many dog advocates argue that there is no such thing as a bad breed, only a bad owner. Still, it can be helpful to understand which breeds of dogs are most commonly involved in bite incidents or acts of aggression. Dog attacks by breed statistics are invaluable both for individuals looking for a dog to adopt as well as for those who interact with animals who want to minimize risk.

The breed that commits the most attacks overall is pit bulls.

Pit bulls are involved in more dog attacks than any other breed. In fact, the American Animal Hospital Association reports this breed was responsible for 22.5% of bites across all studies. Mixed breeds were a close second at 21.2% and German Shepherds were the third most dangerous breed, involved in 17.8% of bite incidents.⁶

The breed that is most likely to be involved in a fatal attack is pit bulls.

Pit bulls are both more likely to be involved in bite incidents and more likely to cause serious injury or death when a bite does occur. In fact, from 1979 to 1998, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention determined pit bulls were involved in the most fatal dog attacks, accounting for 28% deaths due to dog bites during that same time period.⁷

I’ll add, I like pitties. I’ll also advise taking this with a grain of salt as so many mixed breed dogs fall into the pitbull umbrella.

  • Automation moves our society forward.

It’s been happening since the industrial revolution.

When electricity was becoming widespread people feared for the lamp lighters. When the automobile was invented people feared for the farriers.

Jobs will be created in new spaces. That is how it has worked in the past. This is at a level that we younger folk haven’t seen. It can be scary to some. I also won’t deny this will happen at a faster pace than most other changes.

The genie is out of the bottle.

Your likely know everything I’ve said up to this point. Here’s where we differ.

Most businesses in developed countries revolve around selling things to the middle class. Those businesses that don’t directly, usually play a role to that end. Without a middle class to sell things to very few businesses will exist. If you don’t believe me, browse the fortune 500 list. The Fords, GEs, Home Depots all depends on a middle class.

Philosophically, if the middle class ceases to exist were fucked. If it gets to a point where ford is failing (again) those people with political influence will be asking for ubi. We don’t need to stress over this. I have no political influence. I can’t call in favors with senators. Over half the country is opposed to ubi. Let it play out a little. See what happens. We’ll get through this.

  • With Soft touch you risk that the caked on mud will scratch your paint as it’s best of you’re car rr that the previous guys mud is still stuck on the soft touch brush. If you have any non stock exterior accessories, they may get ripped off by the car wash as it flails your car clean.

Touch less it’s just water cleaning your car. Sometimes you need a scrub. Think of how some things get clean in a mediocre dishwasher and some things you have to scrub clean before that go into the dishwasher.

I’ll use whatever’s available. Though I have a preference for the soft touch as it cleans better.
