jfc what kind of sacrifice do I need to make to what ancient diety to get him to step down?
I think we gotta have a conversation as a society about when the hand over the reins to the kids. I’m in my 30’s and glad life expectancy peaked cause seeing the gerontocracy from this end is horrifying.
Why is racist in qoutes?
The comment section is wild. So many people thinking that the Japanese government is somehow late to the floppy free party. Clearly they have no idea how dire the IT infrastructure situation is for the most critical systems of the world’s major super powers
If you think the US government is floppy free, let alone capable of going floppy free in the next 5 years, I’ve got a bridge to sell ya
I take no shame in the schadenfreude I experienced in hearing this
I think you said elsewhere that they are new and that they are photoelectric rather than the radioactive ones.
I’m purely taking a shot in the dark but I’m wondering if you should try sealing up the hole(s) in the wall that you made to run electric and to mount the detector
My thinking is that dust might be getting caught up in a tiny draft through that hole and it’s so close to the source that it sets it off. Cause like, if wind hits the side of the house, there can be some positive pressure in the crawlspace which often also means inside the walls.
I guess maybe somehow there could be some stream or condensation as well. If it’s right by the front door and the humidity is high, maybe the hot air from outside meets the AC air and causes a tiny amount of condensation. Or if you live in hellscape temperatures, maybe there could be some vapor generated because of the hot air.
He’s such an egomaniac that reproducing is a kink for him. Imagine being one of those kids and knowing your dad gets off at your very existence while him also caring so little about you other than your genes
I know the article claims he out-ran it, but I’m not so sure he actually has…
Eh, if the government fucks up then it has to pay, the taxpayers should pressure the government to not fuck up again if they don’t like having to pay for making people whole
Great, the one time we needed Boeing’s world renowned quality control
Ladies, Gentlemen, and Enbies, I present to you the most moral army in the world.
It’s not fair of you to expect our cops to be compitent! It’s against their nature
It’s an interesting question. For me personally, there will always be some level of taint. But we all also have our own tolerances
So something like net-value = value - (taintedness - tolerance)
and the higher the net value, the more likely I’ll buy
Like, Sagrada Familia to me has an incredible value because of how crazy the architecture is and how crazy it would be as a lego build. Still has a decent amount of taintedness cause catholic and my tolerance for catholic stuff is low.
But U.S. Air Force Academy Chapel in CO is a dope looking building so a high value. It does have catholic chapels but also has many different other chapels, which I think overall reduces the taintedness over a straight up catholic churches.
It’ll be interesting to see how it does. I personally have zero interest in spending a shit pile of money to have a massive Catholic Church in my place. I’d be willing to bet it will make more people who are interested in this sort of set decide to get something else than it will attract people who wouldn’t get this sort of set decide to get it
Ravers want just one thing and it makes me sick
They have a few options of what to do while treating workers fairly, even under the framework of capitalism
Fucking over your workers isn’t an acceptable option. As a society, we can’t accept people’s lives being made worse in the name of saving money.
The dude defending this practice seems like the kind of guy that argues that minimum wage is bad because some business would go out of business.
Businesses that can’t function ethically shouldn’t stay in business. I don’t have much empathy for the business tyrants who punch with one hand while begging with the other
The other 50% are people who don’t know it yet but are just in their fascist arc on their way to self acceptance.
I don’t often actively root for tech to fail. Even if it’s something g dumb, it can pave the road for something down the road. However, I’m here for the failure of this because it’s been so nebulous.
I don’t know how to explain it, but this kind of feels like when people were trying to make products where the main hook was blockchain and they seemed to have worked backwards from the tech to a product to the problem being the last thing considered.
As far as I can tell, the only advantage this thing has that a smarter smart watch can provide is taking photos and videos. So maybe there is something there that is worth exploring. Who knows, maybe if apple or Google released this with robust integration and a reasonable price, maybe it could have some potential to have a use case. Maybe GoPro might want to explore the form factor? All that said, none of the things that I think have potential has nothing to do with AI which is what they think is feature #1.
I dunno. I read it after seeing your comment and it suprised by your assessment. Black eyes take forever to heal. They have to see that every day in the mirror for weeks while also trying to deal with the trauma of the attack.
I think it’s great they walked away, but then again, doesn’t seem like the kind of situation where it’s a group of people looking to maim or kill
