No. Not even slightly. Fifteen years ago reddit was still far bigger and more active than the fediverse.
Here there’s barely any content today, back then I was regularly getting 30+ pages deep into reddit when I couldnt sleep most nights, and I wasn’t even close to the end of that days content.
I bought a new netbook last year to watch stuff on as my old one from like 10 years ago finally fell apart.
I fucking hate the new Windows so much and I’m not techy enough to change the operating system to something better, so I barely use it as watching stuff on my phone is easier.
These are great till you live somewhere with shitty electric. On the days when my ecig takes 6 hours to charge I can’t cook as the hot plate won’t even turn on. Fucking slumlords.
Is this ‘renaissance fair’ branding is a new thing? I did a few historical/fantasy weekend larps when I was younger but they were never called ‘renaissance fairs’.
Renaissance fairs are an American thing. They don’t exist in the UK.
It’s not faith if people are actually mostly awful. The world wouldn’t be like this if they weren’t.
Not inserting himself into this for cheap publicity would be far more respectful. He’s making catholics look great in the media though so I’m sure he will be rewarded for this.
If he wants to help, he should help people on the ground where he is.

I’ve met enough of these people to know it’s all show and ego. He inserted hinself into an event that didn’t involve him or his religion and suggested something unfeasibly ridiculous that made him look all selfless and pious and got him worldwide recognition and praise from millions of people.

Cowboy Bebop. I’m probably doing the exact same thing I’m doing now (chilling in bed with the internet and a cup of tea) but with funkier looking tech and worse tea.
Liking Trek means being good at coming up with and or accepting established fan cannon explanations/excuses for why stuff happens, as often it makes infuriatingly little sense otherwise.
DS9 is the strongest of the older shows in my opinion and gives a really good grounding for the politics of the Federation and unfederated alien races involved (and for new trek shows like Disco and Lower Decks), while having enough plot and action to be interesting.
It still has a lot of bad acting and poor writing (especially in the first few seasons, ugh) and it’s practically a radio play for seasons at a time though, so be warned.
And if you’re still a fan after that but want something more serious, watch Babylon 5.
Because supporting people makes things worse? Wtf has to be wrong with you to consider providing basic resources to struggling people, a bad thing?
I’m in the UK and the handful of asylum seekers I’ve met who are unemployed, have significant trauma and or disability and shouldn’t be working as they are barely coping as it is.
If we can support citizens with these conditions on unemployment, it’s nothing but racism to deny this support to people here under asylum.
And unless some kind of supernatural magic occurs that stops capitalism, climate collapse, resource depletion, and all the genocidal authoritarianist politics humans seem to be so naturally predisposed to, birthrates should continue to fall. Adding to our numbers is nothing short of insanity at this point.

Yeah but just like lives, not all stories are good. When you can’t change fundamental building blocks of your own story to create a pleasing narrative for yourself, all you can really do is exist in what there is. Most people exist like this.
Fighting your objective reality for an unobtainable greater meaning, will cause mental illness if you keep doing it. Come to terms with the real you as opposed to the ideal you, and make what you have for your life as nice for yourself as you can, while you can.
Save your desires for manifest destiny for your OC’s and write some stories about them or illustrate them or something.
