Yeah, but that’s like a LOT of work, man.
Yeah, but that’s like a LOT of work, man.
Right. I get you, and I agree, and I don’t think Buffalox was contradicting you by essentially saying “even if they technically aren’t the same, your government may still count it as the same.”
There’s two feet of snow out here, so I don’t know the answer, but I’m willing to try to figure it out.
Hi there, I’m a random passerby listening in on your argument!
You both make great points, and I’m not sure if there’s a misunderstanding here, because I don’t see why this is still going back and forth.
I agree with Free, that if an AI creates an image of CSAM, that there is no child being abused and that it is not anywhere near the same level of evil as actual photographs of CSAM. Different people will have different opinions on that, and that’s fine, it’s a topic that deserves debate.
Buffalox, is saying that your personal stance on the topic doesn’t really matter if the law has deemed it so. Which is also correct. When we talk about drugs, some people do not consider cannabis to be “a drug”, others consider caffeine and sugar to be drugs, but no matter where you stand, there IS a defined list of what you can get arrested for, and no matter how I try to spin the “secret medicinal advantages of meth” (that’s a joke, there are none.) it’s not going to keep me out of prison.
You’re both making valid arguments that don’t necessarily conflict with each other.
You take that back about Kenny Rodgers!!
I get what you’re saying about gambling and pieces of shit, but you also say, “but not THIS kind of gambler.” I used to play a ton of online poker, but there was no real money. I WAS gambling, and there were in-game prizes and prestige to win, but I think we’d both agree that probably doesn’t make me a piece of shit.
So, let’s put a finer point in it.
A would say that gambling is ESPECIALLY ATTRACTIVE to pieces of shit. The idea of getting rich by doing nothing, is going to sound REALLY good to the same people who would run a scam on your grandma. Throw in the fact that deception is a key element of poker, and you’ve created a game that gives an advantage to con men.
You’re probably right that you’d find a higher percentage of pieces of shit in a group of gamblers when compared to non gamblers, but It’s not the gambling that makes them shitty, they already were, and if gambling didn’t exist, they’d probably just be finding other ways to scam their way to riches.
In my experience, it’s more of a bell curve.
18 year olds are terrible adults, as they are just learning, and through your 20s you start to get your shit together, 30 something, you’ve built a foundation, and the adulting starts to come naturally. It varies from person to person, but at some point, you stop giving a shit, and slowly become less and less of an adult until you finally revert back into an infant. Crying about things you don’t understand and shitting in your pants.
At 43, I’m on my way back down the curve. Definitely less of an adult now than I was 10 years ago.
I’m too ashamed to disagree with you.
If I knew there was nothing after next week, I’d keep doing what I do, but harder.
Can’t argue with that.
I’d totally be in then. I’m a try anything once kind of guy.
The success of a TV show can be gathered in real time. A movie needs to be complete before anyone knows about it.
So, they are going to make sure that movie is as sellable as it possibly can, because they only have one chance. The TV show can get tweaked as it goes, and sometimes milking a cash cow doesn’t result in quality. I think of Family Matters back in the 90s. It was a decent family sitcom, but EVERYBODY loved Urkel. So much so, that the last few seasons were essentially the Steve Urkel show. That’s who everybody wanted to see, but the show was complete trash. None of the storylines made sense anymore, and they had Urkel playing Urkel clones because MORE URKEL, MORE MONEY!
Or, of course, it loses popularity and then it gets canned.
This question is hard to answer because aside from some horrific things, I’ve always had unrestricted access, and without knowing what I’d be losing, it’s hard to say one way or the other.
Stream a Nintendo game.
I call bullshit.
If someone hung some out of focus water lilies and labeled it a newly discovered Monet, most people would believe it. The biggest of experts may find details that don’t quite match other Monets, but if those experts were involved in the forgery, they could easily make sure to check those boxes.
Saying they can’t be reproduced is just arrogance, or gatekeeping.
No disrespect to the artists. They deserve the respect for what they do, and creating their own style is half the challenge, but saying it’s impossible for anyone else to do the same after that, is a stretch.
No wait! I read something about this! Those were totally different brussel sprouts! I guess they came up with a new species that didn’t such so bad and that’s why brussel sprouts suddenly got tolerable.
Now I have to go see how much of this is true.
Edit: What do you know? All of it! https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2019/10/30/773457637/from-culinary-dud-to-stud-how-dutch-plant-breeders-built-our-brussels-sprouts-bo
It’s better to have it renewed than risk it turning expired. That will definitely mess up your driving report.
I’m using boost. I’ve just been scrolling very slowly.
Thanks for sharing!
This is the ONLY thing I expected here.
