Personally I love it. Being able to boost results from some sites while depriotizing or even banning others has been real helpful. Not having unrelated “sponsored” content cluttering up the results is certainly nice as well. The results themselves feel like Google from ten years ago, relevant and on point.

  • It might come from those cheap portable models. I tried one my mom had and the cycles were very obvious. It was difficult to do anything where I had to hold a temp, even doing a simple simmer was hard because it would go from boiling to nothing repeatedly. Things constantly burned on it due to poor temp regulation. I know it was a shitty model and I expect full size models to be much better, but it was a concern of mine as well.

I do hope to pick up an induction within a year or two. Can’t really afford it at the moment though.

  • My theater still gives a better experience than what I get at home due to the bigger screen and sound system. That said the loud obnoxious ads they blast at you before the movie starts make going with friends rather pointless and the previews go on forever. It actually makes me angry every time since it costs me $20-30 to go to movie with concessions. So I am going to say no.

There is a drive in theater that is about an hour away I occasionally go to, but other than that I haven’t bothered in ages.

  • Like SimpleLogins. It allows you to create an email on the fly like mudskipper.lemmy@relay.com that you can create an account with (in this case the lemmy part of the email is taken from whatever company you are signing up with. All emails sent to that email will get forwarded on to you. If the account sells your email to spammers you will know exactly what company sold you out and you can disable that email address. Same thing if the company itself spams the hell out of you.

It’s very handy! Only con I have come across is some companies will not accept the address. For those i just move on or create a burner Gmail account.
