  • I recently got permanently banned for “report abuse”

I reported 5 or so posts for breaking the subs rules [they were extremely obvious], and even copied the rule straight from the sidebar into the reason field. Few minutes later I got banned and muted from the sub, with no warning or explanation. Day later I get a message saying my account has been permanently suspended from reddit.

So take that a a lesson, don’t report anything, you’re putting your account at risk each time.

Still haven’t heard back on the appeal, which is a joke too, you only get 250 characters to plead your case and can’t even attach screenshots or documentation.

  • Citizens of free and democratic societies have a fundamental need to be informed of what is going on in the world and their communities, free of bias or censorship, so they can make informed, reality based decisions and instruct their representatives in government on how to carry out the will of the people. When you start filtering and curating peoples’ perception of reality to fit an agenda or narrative you’re talking away their agency (you tankies wouldn’t understand what that word means), and interfering with their duties as a citizen.
