We have lots of large parks in my city. Not central park sized, but we are not an NYC sized city. It’s basically a small city incorporated into the forest. Sometimes they try to capitalize some of it, but the voters reliably shut them down, we love our green spaces.

This is very helpful- I’ve been wanting an espresso machine but I refuse to buy Nespresso. I was considering Delonghi but my biggest issue with coffee makers is the fact that no matter how much I clean the machine it still tastes like old coffee after a couple years of use. Good to know saving up for the better one- or even buying a refurbished model- will probably serve me better.
I would argue that the problem is the blindness to the hatred. Just because someone did a good thing once doesn’t mean they are a good person. People can be all bad and still do good things- like Trump. When the root of everything you try to accomplish is taking away from others then you are all bad,no matter how many good things you make your disguise out of.
That’s not stuck up- that’s reality.
Generally speaking people are a mix of bad and good- people who so wholeheartedly support Trump are not those people, sorry. You cannot base your beliefs on hatred and taking away rights and then use the same breath to say that you are also a good person, the grey area isn’t that deep. You cannot vote for the suffering of people and then say that you are a good person too.
There’s no need for tar and feathers, but it’s good to know that’s how you see anyone who disagrees.
The thought that we know someone better-especially someone we love- often clouds our judgement of them. We want them to be good people so we gloss over the terrible parts. That’s ok, you keep defending your sister and the rest of us will keep knowing better, no tar and feathers necessary.

We’ve listened, and yes they are monsters. Their entire purpose is to take away from others. That’s not good people.
I smoked for 23 years- started when I was 11 and tried quitting several times. I legitimately thought I was never going to be able to quit and cigarettes were hitting $15 a pack and I was at a loss. I wasn’t ready to quit- I enjoy smoking- but I couldn’t keep up with the cost of living and the cost of smoking so I went on Champex (Chantix in the US).
I may not have been ready to quit, but it definitely made me ready. It started by making me nauseous and blocking my nicotine receptors before I even finished my first round of pills ( it is typically up to a year and it took 3 months for me) I was so done with cigarettes. I was super resistant to quitting too. That shit worked so well. 4 years later and I can’t even stand the smell of someone’s cigarette wafting across my nose.

There is also Chantix/Champex depending on your country. I found it to be extremely effective in turning me off of cigarettes. It made me nauseous and I think it changed how my brain felt about cigarettes until they disgusted me.

When COVID hit I had a now or never moment and took the now. I took it a couple times actually. Got me a real career in a new province out of the deal so I figure I ended up for the better. Sometimes the choice is obvious like it was for me and you need to jump on that shit before you never get another chance.
