I’ve been using Tailscale for about 2 months now. It has a VPN-on-demand setting that I keep enabled. That way, anytime I am not on my local WiFi, it automatically connects the VPN. According to my battery health settings, Tailscale has used 5% of my battery in the last 10 days. And I am even using a Mullvad exit node, which would use even more battery.
I got my machine about 2 years ago and I use it almost exclusively. I don’t think I’ve made coffee any other way in at least 6 months. I make espresso for myself and my wife about 3 times a week. I use a smart plug with my machine to turn it on and let it start heating up without having to go to the kitchen, and that has helped me use it more since I can start preheating it from anywhere.
As much as I hate to send anyone to Reddit, the wiki on the Usenet subreddit is great. They explain the concepts and components and have a list of good indexers and providers.
If you have any other questions or need help setting anything up, feel free to send me a PM.
I would really recommend looking into Usenet. I was in your position a few months ago (starting to look for private trackers), but ended up hearing about Usenet and going that route instead. It has been amazing so far. It has everything I am looking for, I don’t need to worry about a VPN, and I can download as fast as my ISP can go, so I get my content in minutes instead of hours. I also don’t have to worry about my VPN disconnecting for some reason and my ISP sending me a nasty letter. The only downside is, if you want the best, you’ll have to pay for an indexer and a downloader, but it’s not that expensive and is certainly worth it for the benefits over torrents.
Wasn’t classic Teams already a web app?
I think it’s this one: https://github.com/truenas/charts.git. It has those apps you mentioned.
This was exactly what I needed to see. I was afraid that maybe what I was seeing was a sign of some crazy bad channeling, but I have always used lighter roasted coffee and I forgot that would produce the results I was seeing.
I also had this issue after I finally got my AirPods paired to my steam deck. What fixes it for me is after launching the game, open the Steam menu, go to Settings, and change the output device to the built in speakers, then back to the AirPods.
I had the same issue with mine, also in an airport. I ended up renaming them from my iPhone and was then able to pair them.
Edit to add: I thought pairing them from desktop mode may give me better luck, but it actually made things worse for some reason. Even after renaming them, I wasn’t able to pair them in desktop mode. Immediately after switching back to gaming mode, I was able to pair them.
+1 for Veeam. I am a backup administrator and this is our tool of choice. I use it for my home machines as well and it works great.
Just remember, you don’t have a backup unless you have tested it.
I’ve had Sey and enjoyed it as well! Verve sounds familiar, so I might have had it before.
Just did some testing. While playing a game and pulling 22w, the battery says about 4 hours. While playing a game with a partially depleted battery pulling the full 40w, it says 2hrs.
If you limit the power you will obviously be able to stretch it quite a bit. Overall, quite a bit of extra playtime.
I have been getting my beans from Fellow Drops for about a year or so now. I haven’t had a single bad bag from them, and I am always getting to try new things. Their bags can be a bit more pricey, but so far I would say it is worth the price.
My two favorite bags I’ve gotten from them so far have been from Onyx. Their stuff is expensive, but damn is it good.
I can second this. I got mine on sale for $110, but even at full price it is worth it. With 140w of output power, it can even charge my Mac at full speed without issue.
How does the Opus hold up? I’ve heard mixed reviews, especially when grinding for espresso.
Very jealous of that Decent! Maybe it’s a good thing I don’t have one though. I feel like I would go crazy trying to dial in the perfect recipe with all the stats it gives and customizations you can do.
It is expensive for sure. If you are trying to make better tasting coffee, not at all. A few degrees won’t really make a difference in the final taste. Honestly, I got it because it’s probably the nicest looking kettle out there. The money would be better spent going toward a better grinder IMO.
I do not enjoy having money, but I do enjoy drinking coffee.
Thanks! Mean bean is correct, it is the Quick Mill Corola Evo! I was hesitant to buy it at first because I couldn’t find many reviews, and the reviews I did find were for an earlier model that is no longer being sold. I’m glad I went with this one, as I don’t care to have a steam wand (I bought a Brevel frother to take its place). This unit focuses solely on the espresso, so for the price it is very good at pulling shots.
I’m curious what issues you had with TrueNAS? I’ve been using it for about a year now and the only issue I have had has been with one of my pools deleting itself after a reboot, but that was user error because I put the wrong SED password in the settings.
