News exaggerate everything nowadays.
I think “populism rule” would fit a bit better.

Milei probably has a small resemblance with DT. Maybe just a small percentage, but that is enough to call him a Full DT by the press in the rest of world. It is just cheap press.
The guy has a lot of cons and pros. But he is not a DT. He is mainly an economist. Not a businessman.
Argentina as always is a sinking ship with a lot of holes. Every year there are more holes. They still have not found a party that can close those holes. And there were only 3 big parties.
Perhaps a new party (like the one from Milei) manages to start closing some of those holes. Perhaps they keep opening holes like the current party. Even if you put the best party ever made, it would take 15-30 years maybe more to recover. You have a lot of adults that never worked (legally) and live from the state. It takes time to educate the new generations letting them know that money is not always a free thing that comes without working. (And you cannot tell them “now you have to find a job” in the short term otherwise the country will go violent. Therefore no matter how far right the party is. It always end up adapting to a situation to control the masses that requires socialism).
Time will tell about what will happen if the same party (probably was the worst government in the past 30 years) wins the election. But nowadays the country is at worst since I was born. 40% poverty (oficial, real is perhaps higher ), 100+% annual inflation (not even the old 20-30% annual). It is probable that the current government will never leave and will stay on power just like it happens in many other countries, like Venezuela. (While it is still a totally different country, we always compare to Venezuela because the current party always liked Venezuela as a role model to follow).
I hope not! But with 40+% poverty… soon there will not be enough tax payers to cover the costs but maybe hyperinflation puts a stop to the excess of public spending (printing ARS money) to solve any problem.
I never said that…
Argentina has above 100% annual inflation at the moment, right?
Yeah so for Pixel 8 you just need a bit more for 120Hz instead of 90Hz.
A different story is for gaming. But for mobile gaming I’m more a fan of Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch. Devices that have higher TDP.
Performance I don’t give a shit.
But efficiency I care a lot especially in a laptop. Much more on the phone.
Pixel 5 with a 3 year old mid range SoC can run android 14 UI at 90 FPS pretty much fine.
I’m glad I opened the video because this game I didn’t know looks like a dark souls and now I’m definitely adding it to my wishlist!
And also it is 4K60 FPS!
They moved to WhatsApp long ago.
USD It is the second most popular currency in Argentina.
And the first choice for savings.
(I’d prefer EUR rather than USD as it’s more decentralised).
I don’t think that switching to USD is the best solution. But at least it should limit the ridiculous amount of money printed. The inflation in Argentina is crazy.
In Spain if we were the only owners of the Euro we would be printing money to solve absolutely any problem. Generating even more inflation.
I play these games with DualSense even on PC.
Some prices are crazy in my opinion.
I generally buy 2 year old games except in some cases.
And in the consoles they are even more expensive. Game price could be higher than on PC and then you also need to pay an expensive subscription (because they charge you for a lot more things than just the multiplayer costs) to be allowed to play in multiplayer.
The player base is also bigger than before. While that needs more post sales support and more infrastructure it is nothing compared to the game.
I think in short the problem here is just the wrong forecasting when planning the game.
The origin for me are the guys who generally demand that the SD should have higher resolution than 720p-800p (approximately).
I personally think the display PPI is good enough in the original Steam Deck. So I wouldn’t raise the resolution a lot. Especially when some games struggle to keep 30 FPS.
Of course, the eye to display distance matters a lot for this and that’s a bit more subjective.
Many people are still playing with a PS4. And generally consoles last several years.
If we can move the optimisations more to the PC world that would be also nice to keep devices running in the longer term.
What I don’t think is going to happen is a future steam deck running a native resolution at 1080p requiring much more GPU PWR.
Maybe they’ll add 1080p or higher resolution screen and start using more the upscaling.
But running a future GPU bound game natively at 1080p will make any medium term upgrade more like a downgrade.
I’ve been playing on planes, airports, beach, outdoor.
But not much at home. There I still use the PC.
My dad has one expiring this year. I told him next time to get some regular laptop with AMD Zen and use it in Windows and if he misses Chrome OS I can just install some light Linux distribution.
I see this as part of the experience one has.
My rule is to not take anything that has information from the client.
For example I generally just create a txt file with a few example of “how to do this or that”. Generic stuff. So next time it takes me much less time to do the same thing.
Also valid. Yeah
If I tip I generally do it based on the work/effort rather than the price.
