I’m sure the finger wagging keeps him up at night.
Why are there obituaries in the obituaries column?
Customize your feed and/or block whatever you want to filter it, buddy. There’s a Reddit exodus because of American-centered events, so you’re going to see American-centric news and Reddit-bashing stories in some default feeds for a bit. Filter it out and move on.
Right? I don’t care anymore. Let’s just get in the mud with them, fuck it. A cybertruck ate my baby!
No problem, I’ll just eat less plastic!
…oh wait.
I’m surprised the percentage is less the older the bracket got. I’d think I’d go hog wild the older I’d get. Credit card for all! Max it out in a blaze of glory!
Maybe not, but it would be really cool and totally radical! Especially if they double-shaka’d 🤙

To hell with him.
It was either you or Tildes.
I went with Tildes originally, but their admirable effort to only encourage long-form discussion works against growing a user base to be anything more than a Petri dish; people need those fast dopamine hits!
…that and they’re invite only.
I knew things were looking too optimistic.
Yeah the chasing profit is what ultimately dooms public forums.
My account there is 19 years old and I’m starting to spend more time on Lemmy than I am Reddit.
My forum timeline’s been webcomic/livejournal forums > ytmnd & digg > reddit > lemmy
(Social media’s been Chat clients > MySpace > FB > Instagram > BeReal & Pixelfed)
imo this friction will erode as larger instances come into play; people will join a large, main instance without even knowing of the others, and-- if they have a problem with the instance they joined-- they’ll find they can easily jump ship there.
As much as I love to see the upper crust eat each other, I just wish the fallout was more palpable for everyone at the bottom.
