Exactly this. I exclusively used reddit on mobile through Boost, so without it it’s like I’m on a different platform.
That was added to my post when I replied lol. Must’ve been a glitch 🤷♂️.
Doesn’t need to be hosted on the server. Just need the client’s to support smooth embedding from other video hosts like peertube.

Using an app is just a more mobile friendly experience. Also, you get the option of choosing an app with a layout that is most appealing to you. For example I’ve been using WefWef for now, but I’m waiting for Boost for Lemmy to come out since it’s an interface I’m familiar with.
