The subbox is for your subscriptions and the frontpage is what the algorithm suggests to you and for me it’s mostly stuff that’s relevant to me. Or at least stuff where I can see why an algorithm would think it’d be relevant to me.
Exactly. Or you come across something that you watch despite not wanting to, like a car accident (metaphor, not literal).
Fair. It would be nice if the algorithm was a bit more customizable (i.e. only counting likes, not watchtime, comments, etc)
Have you looked at a fresh YouTube frontpage without being logged in and no cookies and/or history? Sure privacy is nice and important but I don’t know if it’s worth it.
Homebrew software is unofficial/non-commercial software for systems which were originally set up with proprietary software (like gaming console or in this case car OSs).
Im sorry, I still don’t know what you’re talking about. What about the internet runs on homebrew and how is it related to cars?
What does that even mean and how is it relevant here? “The internet” isn’t a car or piece of hardware.
There have been subscriptions for navigational systems for a long time. It makes sense to me that software that needs constant updates or has stuff run server-side would be licensed. Unlocking hardware features not so much. I don’t see heated seats getting a lot of updates.
Good luck getting a homebrew OS for tesla cars to pass those tests. I don’t even know how that would work. I’d be curious to know what would happen if you would try to register and get a car through the TÜV for example that runs on custom firmware.
Doesn’t BMW also do the heated seats DLC?
Don’t wanna pull the “are you living under a rock?”-card but I’ve seen tons of promotional material about it. I read about it when production started he took note because of the director and cast, then nothing for a while but in the months and weeks leading up to the release I saw an increasing amount of ads and press.
