I used to not mind paying for Netflix because it was better than trying to pirate things. That has changed 😅. It’s still easier to pay for spotify premium than try to pirate music. However, I would be cautious as they may try to make additional changes to the premium tier (price hikes without actual useful additional features) that would make it not worth it. Looking at the year in review that spotify does every year, and I listen to a TON of spotify between work and personal use I probably listen to 12+ hours a day so it would take a lot for me to ditch it but not impossible.

Are these actually developers getting laid off? I recall seeing similar posts like this last year and it turns out they just laid off middle management and sales positions, and kept the actual devs

I never watched The X-Files but with winter coming up it’s always nice to have some new (to me) shows to watch.

A spinoff would be the way to go if you want to extend a series. I’m not quite sure who you could do that for in Archer. I was thinking like Better Call Saul (a fourth show has entered the discussion). I think that was really well done but I’m not sure a similar thing could be done for Archer and be as successful.

Always enjoyed Archer, didn’t realize this was it. However, I am kind of glad it’s over. I hate seeing things continuously dragged out just because it makes the networks some money. I hope it ends in a way which the creators and cast are happy with.

I look at Supernatural as a prime example of this. End it after 5 seasons. It could have been great, but seasons 6-11? or so were really bad IIRC. There was a great story arc that they should have just left alone.

Ok so if Google can’t really kill Android, then why are people upset or concerned about this seven year promise?

Also since Google has “Seven years of OS, Security and feature drop updates” listed as part of the specs of the 8 Pro, they have to actually ship seven years of OS (Android, you can’t switch this to something else or they can be sued, and I’m sure Google wouldn’t want to pay these fines).

So keep being upset over nothing?

Ok bud. They’re making pixel exclusive features, because it depends on their tensor chip. The whole point of the Pixel exclusive features is to draw people to the Pixels over other android devices.

Google probably kills products that don’t hit their internal success metrics, and this allows them to go on and try new things instead of maintaining products that didn’t work out.

Have they made some questionable decisions? Sure.

However, for the Pixel to stop receiving these updates, that would essentially mean that Google is discontinuing Android development and there are much bigger concerns (ie Apple monopoly on smartphone OS).

So for GM cars, they have a standard 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty. People would trade in their cars when the warranty expires. They’re might not be anything wrong with it, but they have the income to buy another new car and don’t want to deal with out of warranty repairs.

I agree, I think it does more harm than good.

A repost bot could provide some value if it’s reposting say news articles or sports scores. Even then you would need to find a way to make sure the posts have some value and are not just spam. However if the purpose of the post was to provide some sort of advice to the OP, the repost is worthless.

People left reddit because the reddit company sucks and they don’t want to support it, not just spez.

But people still want to see a bunch of content. There’s really no alternative to Reddit and Twitter because even if you can mimic their ideas, you won’t be able to magically copy the user base and therefore the content generation. It took YEARS for those platforms to get to where they are.
