huh? astral projection real? 🤨
♡ im minnie ♡
i post here a lot bc i want to contribute to the growth of kbin and make a home for fellow reddit migrants
huh? astral projection real? 🤨
they keep it to themselves to remain on top. empress also accepts donations, even going so far as to refuse to crack a game unless she receives a certain amount of money like $500.
she doesn’t release info because then she won’t be needed, and therefore won’t receive money for something that many crackers can do
i really did not understand and this. this mag is for migrants and updates on the migration, a literal hub for migrants from reddit.
if a migrant has something to say about migration, about their own migration or what caused them to migrate, anything related to the reddit migration it belongs here. pushing them away like this and making them feel stupid for making a post when this is now supposed to be their safe haven away from reddit is NOT helping
maybe is a bit out of their league, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with asking and getting started that way. you don’t magically know what to do, asking can help you gather the steps required.
there is never anything wrong with asking and learning
i started learning it bc i was told it was easy, and it was, but i switched to JS because I had no practical uses for python, but i can say it did help me understand JS better
yes, you can. you only need to sign up for one instance, thats your “home base” and you can see everything from everywhere else from it. it’s like you can make a gmail account and still email ymail, yahoo, outlook, whatever else
i thought lemmy had like 250k+ (?) in total and then kbin.social has like 40-45k
this is my mindset. its gonna take some of us to kick things off. i do it in my mags where im the main one posting
there’s tons of niche mags around, but when i go to them, no one is participating. we have to help grow them if we want them to thrive. i try to post in them if I see they are empty. we cant expect them to magically appear and grow, we must be proactive
It does make sense. My friend talks about this alot. It also seems to me from my own experiences ad especially his that everything is made to maximise profit and user experience is the last priority. It’s structured that way in order to guarantee their control over your experience and therefore their profits. Nothing is spontaneous, the charm is gone for most modern games, and so it’s just not as fun as it was ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i believe we can do it and do it great ❤︎
well said. it also just makes me feel better in general contributing to kbin, because i am contributing to its growth and real conversations, and better yet, helping create a home here for other reddit migrants
agreed! you make great points
thats crazy. im very active on here as my profile can tell and other than a run in with an alt right person on one thread, i havent seen anything bad. of course, as it gets more popular, this will increase, but for now its pretty nice
did mine too. i took this text from someone else’s edited comment cause i liked it so much, added a line or two
i cant tell if youre genuinely unaware or joking but either way its hilarious
as long as they move to federated sites, its fine, you can access them all from kbin as usual. but if they decide to make their own site, or go somewhere centralized (ew) then yea, not much we can do abt that
How else do you suggest bringing migration to their attention? I am a mod as well, I cannot see how someone politely asking if we are thinking about making a community on a diff platform can be perceived as pestering? It appears this is individual and not every mod will be annoyed and not every mod wont be annoyed.
edit: 10 people suggesting it to mods says “this is in higher demand than we thought, not just one random person’s suggestion that we can ignore, we need to consider taking action or addressing this” Which is how changes happen. mods need to listen to their users, thats the responsibility they volunteered to take on. As a commenter said below me: “If you are getting annoyed because so many of your users want to migrate, maybe you should consider migrating instead of demonizing your users?”
ah, so do nothing instead, okay
