Why would it be expected that you would have knowledge of such a thing?
They predict -3.7% if yesterday was somehow the end of it, but we know it’s not.
-3.7% would be a dream compared to what’s actually likely.
The possibility of a situation like this is why people never succeeded in repealing the second amendment.
And whether or not we agreed with that fact, it is likely to have some effect on the situation now.
This time may be different because the police may have a lot greater reason to join the people than they did in the past. The police’s retirements were also wiped out, and the police’s family members are a lot more likely to have been affected by those tariffs. I think it’s too pessimistic to say what you’re saying, because the number of people affected now is significantly greater.
An uprising seems likely, and an attempt at brutal suppression also seems likely, but the United States regime has also made enemies of almost every other country on the planet, and the groundswell of people is very large. The number of people in the protests today was massive:

10·4 days agoThe USA is the country where you have no say in whether you get your own healthcare, but you sure get a lot of opportunities to deny needed healthcare to other people!
They are free to leave the US and stop empowering our enemy with their taxes.

You think that a lot of us haven’t been looking at every country that might be worthwhile, including spending years learning additional languages, researching our ancestry several generations deep to find countries where we might be able to get ancestry, applying for literally dozens to hundreds of jobs on literally all other continents, and even taking IELFS training and tests and looking at industry changes for jobs just to be able to get out?
It’s not as easy as you think. Even Canada and Mexico have strict requirements that a lot of the people in the U.S. can’t meet.
Literally the closest comparison is the people who wanted to flee Nazi Germany.
Get some perspective. The people who you are complaining about are on the same side as you. We don’t want anything to happen to Canada, and if something does happen between the U.S. and Canada, we will be each other’s best hope.

131·5 days agoWhat international alternatives exist for YouTube? And I understand RedNote as an alternative for TikTok, but YouTube fills a little bit of a different niche.
The people in the blue states are afraid for their lives.
This isn’t a situation where the people in the blue states need to be aware of the danger Trump poses to Canadians and the problems he poses for Canada and need to be made aware of it.
The people in the blue states are unable to afford much of anything now, not food, not healthcare, not housing, not transportation, nothing. And on top of that, they’re afraid of being disappeared because the Trump regime is disappearing people for no cause, because of things like having an autism awareness tattoo or like publishing a letter.
It’s not to say that what Canada is facing from Trump isn’t bad, but no, people in the blue states are MORE aware of the dangers of Trump than you are. Canadians are justified in reacting, absolutely, but people in the U.S. in blue states are not unaware of what’s going on, and don’t need Canadians to make them aware of these things.
No they came for the trans people first, too.

I read today that one of his secretaries said that China had miscalculated, because China exports roughly four times as much to the U.S. as the U.S. imports to China, and he said that that makes the U.S. a lot stronger than China, that it would give the U.S. a better bargaining position.
That’s like a wealthy family in a small town saying they can outlast the grocery store if the grocery store decides to stop selling food to you.
I mean, good luck with that…
