i was still on the outdated OpenBoard, this is great. i’m using it right now
yes
i was still on the outdated OpenBoard, this is great. i’m using it right now
there is a fork with proprietary dependencies removed called Signal-FOSS, whose repo you can add to F-Droid if you decide to trust it
what “stuff” are you talking about?
if you want to do some pirating you need a decent VPN, like Mullvad or Proton, that you run on your system (Android/Linux/Windows/iOS), not some random leaky and dubious browser add-on
dunno why dafuq you’re mentioning configuring a webserver (with SWAG) to point the DNS records (A and CNAME). the VPN will act as a proxy for you. but maybe i’m just way out of my depth here…
it might help if first you tell us what exactly are tou trying to achieve
thanks everyone for the feedback. while unaware, I was still using Invidious in Freetube through the setting “Proxy videos through Invidious”. it’s turned off now and working fine
how can i find such “obscure” instances, tho? i’ve always picked one from the Invidious’ website public list and, upon testing, all of them seem slow right now
also, I had forgotten to try Piped, which is working fine
on a side note, I’d never understood why Piped was made, given that Invidious exists, but here it is, in case anyone wants to know
ah shit, thanks
way different, it’s open source
~~ it’s on F-Droid https://f-droid.org/packages/org.dslul.openboard.inputmethod.latin/ ~~
EDIT: if anyone sees this, how can i strikethrough text? i’m trying to signal this mistake but i am failing
here on degoogled android (LineageOS) i have been using OsmAnd~ (F-Droid version) for a couple of years, and i love it. it was a bit overwhelming at first, since it’s deep in its customization, but it means you can make it be as you want. it’s great for navigation (in my region OSM is a bit short on street numbers, tho) although it took some time getting used to they way it display things like changing lanes before an exit. i found it after i went looking for a replacement for Maps.me when it went closed source
i just recently started contributing through StreetComplete and i’m loving it, but eventually would like to move on to bigger edits (like adding buildings and roads) but haven’t explored the best way to do that. i know you can make edits in OsmAnd~ but i suspect the OSM web page on desktop will be better for that

libretorrent on android
“yes, it’s wrong. but if you don’t tip, you are making the waiter go hungry”
WTF? no, the bosses are. generally bosses are making their employees go hungry, but in the restaurant business they just managed to shift the blame unto the customers. it seems really twisted to me
where i live tipping is really optional, and most don’t, unless they’re rounding up the bill. i have several friends who do or did work as a waiter and i aways found it sad how they would talk with resentment about the customers they would pretend to like, not sparing a word for their bosses who were sucking them dry with low wages, unpaid extra hours and a fuckin’ sick workplace culture
check out Tuxedo laptops. they’re made for Linux so you won’t have driver issues. you can use their distro or any other
they’re not cheap, but form what i’ve read/heard the build quality is very good. they’re from germany
as the other lemming said, on Android LibreTorrent works great
just wanted to add something that might be off topic but since you mention Linux ISOs: EtchDroid
with it you can create a Linux bootable flash drive straight from your Android device. i use a small USB-A + USB-C pen drive that connects on one end to my desktop and on the other to my phone. has saved me from my linux fails several times :D
