Linux on ARM has existed for longer than MacOS on ARM. Do you want to know the problem? That the hardware manufacturer, Apple, didn’t provide any kind of support for it. Asahi is a community project developed by volunteers.
When Linux is supported by the manufacturer, it works like a charm, both ARM and amd64. If you need an ARM example, linux in Raspberry Pis have been running flawlessly for years.
what’s the obsession with ARM? it’s just cool right now because Apple did it. But amd64 is just fine.
There are countless patches that are never merged for one reason or another, sometimes just because the maintainer doesn’t like the implementation even if it works, so they implement it themselves.
If no code was used, no credit is necessary. She did credit you for testing, which a lot of projects don’t bother crediting. So take that and continue with your life.
so nothing most users would use. It sounds more practical for kids.
okay, still, she didn’t steal anything from you. She didn’t use your patch, that’s all that happened. That’s not stealing.
no, because Leah didn’t use any OP’s code. Leah simply rewrote the patch because it wasn’t working. OP is just mad because he was expecting to get it to work and be merged into the project, but Leah did it first.
Reading Leah’s comments, you’ve been credited for what you did, testing. Your patch didn’t work, she didn’t use it and wrote a solution herself.
Nothing was stolen because she didn’t use your patch.
China is not a third world country
I don’t get why you’re getting dowvoted. I guess there are a lot of Americans over here. But your statement is absolutely true. The US attempts at restricting China’s access to various technologies only make sense if they feel threatened by them.
those CPUs just happen to have a huge marketing budget behind and a very loyal fanbase. They aren’t anything revolutionary. Sure, more battery life. In terms of daily usage, the difference with a high end AMD or Intel CPU is unnoticeable other than having a shiny apple on the back of your laptop.
If we had a working alternative to Android as a whole, we would surely use it. But Linux on mobile works only in few devices and not flawlessly at all. But for the Chromium monopoly we have an actual alternative that works.
It’s a rebranded chromium with some extra bloat. Just like his older brother Chinese Chromium, Opera, and their edgy cousin, Microsoft Chromium. All following the example of Papa Chrome.
Interesting. I like the UI. I doubt the aesthetic people on Tumblr would like it but that’s not the point.
it’s always welcome to have more options in the fediverse.
How is federation working, BTW? I see you’ve commented from wafrn, are you able to follow Lemmy communities from there?
stop consuming Apple marketing.
For starters, you can degoogle Android, you can’t deapple iOS.
You can replace the manufacturer android with a clean, free software and secure Android ROM, like GrapheneOS. iOS is a black box, fully proprietary and controlled by Apple.
You can install apps from third parties on Android, like F-Droid. On iOS every app must be approved by Apple.
You can’t use an iPhone without an Apple account, you can use Android without a Google account.
Android has multiple profiles support, which comes handy for completely isolating apps from the rest of your phone.
There’s much, much more. That’s just what came to my mind right now.
I despise Google, and I agree with chromium, but when the only other alternative is using the proprietary walled garden that is iOS, I’ll take degoogled Android everyday.
nobody cares if a random influencer wannabe almost mentions the fediverse at the end of a random video.
I2P does connect to the clearnet, it just doesn’t by default.
Outproxies are available and you can even host your own routing it through Tor. That way you get the best of both networks.
yeah the guy is insufferable and always trying to promote their own business.
