I wouldn’t have walked out of my vehicle screaming at him to get out of the car, and most departmental policy agrees with me. I wouldn’t have tased someone who wasn’t behaving aggressively, and almost all use of force continuum guidance in America agrees with me.
These policies are adopted because the ideal outcome was Cure being arrested for reckless driving, his car being impounded, and possibly additional charges for resistance and assault. Instead he was summarily executed for a non-capital crime. If you think people should be executed for speeding, then maybe you should move to Saudi Arabia, because that isn’t my America.
The cop immediately escalated the encounter. He had hundreds of opportunities where he could have not taken Cure’s life.
I think there should be a presumption that this is retaliatory
This. I grew up in single-party Republican Texas. It’s only now that people outside the South are really paying attention to what they have been doing to us.
You don’t have to believe that to believe that the parties are not the same. “Inherent good” is a philosophical construct that isn’t present in the real world- adopting a fatal nihilism in the face of that is the true idiocy.
Congress cannot impose SCOTUS term limits by statute. For one, Congress lacks enumerated authority to regulate SCOTUS. For another, even if they did, SCOTUS interprets the constitution to mean life terms, which means any simple statute Congress passes is reviewed… by SCOTUS… as facially unconstitutional.

Technically 2/3 of states could amend by statute
Not a power that belongs to any branch except through a constitutional amendment. The Constitution says life during good behavior.
And yet instead of doing this, you replied? Seems like a questionable course of action

Of course it corrects for the trend. It lowered birth rates because pregnancy is riskier since terminating is no longer an option unless you basically sit through a death panel to determine whether or not it’s clear enough that your life is at risk to terminate. Even then, by the time you get to the point where it’s clearly a risk to your life, it can produce sterilizing or permanently disabling consequences.
All for the privilege of bringing a human being into the world with no public assistance, who has exorbitant medical costs, childcare costs, education costs, and for whom being unable to provide for them has catastrophic social consequences.
How do you think I know you’re full of shit?
