There are dozens of us!
However, seriously, I like Lemmy the way it is now and I think the shityfication trend will continue for commercial platforms, bringing more users to the Fediverse.
Still due to the persistent success of things like WhatsApp (despite the existence of Signal), I assume the Fediverse will remain a niche for a long time, if not forever - but hey, I’m glad we have what we have.
I also reject this reality we are living in!

This guy appears to have reasonable and objective arguments against an involvement of Israel:
Thanks for clearing that up. I suppress my urge to give you my thoughts on that, because I’m afraid my attempt at being ‘helpful’, would be to similar to telling someone to smile, when they are depressed.
And for all I know, you could already be way happier with your life than I am with mine.
Anyway, live long and prosper
I suppose the military is also trying to release as little data as possible to conceal their capabilities.
Now I want to know how you act when you’re drunk. I mean, if you get drunk anyway, just blame the liquor. :taps forehead:
It can be fun to meet (new) people. I think, the key is to be sincerely interested in others and don’t worry too much what they think about you.
If e.g. you are interested in programming or understanding how thinks work, it could be interesting to try to understand how other people tick. What motivates them, why etc. And if you get the impression that someone looks down on you, that’s just another point of data about the world that person is living in. So the fun can stem from broadening your horizon (or from finding common ground).
You could try to log out / delete the app data and sign in again.
Please don’t
Maybe my understanding of the wording is wrong, but I think you assume a total return of investment of 4.125% and 4.375%. Hence, your total payments correspond to fixed rates of less than 0.5% per year.
For a fixed rate of 4.125% (per year), I calculate a total repayment of $51,016.80, over 20 years.
I don’t care as long as I got all of you up in here! :-*
Over 30 times in a cinema or overall?
Do these jobs offer any benefits? Like e.g. healthcare?
The article says, that the documents, which were made public last year, include veterinary records that describe the alleged suffering experienced by several of Neuralink’s primate subjects. These records indicate that as many as twelve of these subjects had to be euthanized due to their condition. The documents portray graphic details of the suffering endured by these animals.
Experimental surgeries on monkeys to test the survivability of implants can result in complications such as bloody discharge, partial paralysis, and “brain swelling.” An example in December 2019 involved an internal part of the implant breaking off and causing infections which could not be cleared, ultimately resulting in the euthanization of the monkey.
The condition of a female monkey called “Animal 15” deteriorated after her implant surgery, leading to symptoms of pain or infection such as pressing her head against the floor and picking at her implant until it bled. She also experienced loss of coordination and uncontrollable shaking when in the presence of lab workers. Eventually, she was euthanized, and a necropsy report revealed bleeding in her brain and damage to her cerebral cortex caused by the Neuralink implants.
In March 2020, Animal 22, a monkey, was euthanized after its cranial implant became loose. The necropsy report confirmed that two screws securing the implant to the skull had severely loosened and could be easily extracted. The report explicitly stated that the implant’s failure was solely mechanical and not caused or worsened by any infection. This information contradicts Elon Musk’s claim that no monkeys died due to Neuralink’s chips.
We are basically a bunch of cavemen and while our brains stopped evolving ~100,000 years ago, we somehow managed to create weapons of global scale and to partially organise on a global scal.
It’s a rollercoaster ride without breaks, but hey, maybe we’re lucky.
Well, he shouldn’t have made this deal with that sea witch!
According to Wikipedia, there were 7 tied games in the last 8 years (2017 - 2023).
Those 7 games appeared in 5 out 8 seasons, which results in a chance of 62,5% to catch a draw within a season.
Or with 272 games per season, the draw chance per game is 0,3%. So no draw chance is 99.7%.
Hence you get a chance of 1-(99.7%^272) = 56% to catch at least one draw per season.
This assumes the 2023 season is finished (without a draw), which I think is wrong. So the odds for a draw could be slightly higher.
