Reason I’m asking is because I used to have an account here, but I got locked out of my Bitwarden (and thus loss access to the password) so I just decided it’s a good opportunity to try out new instances. I remember hexbear being blocked last time I used dbzer0? Did I remember wrong? If hexbear was blocked, why did you decide to refederate? I thought this instance didn’t like tankies?

I had initially thought they were another instance like exploding heads but I later realized they’re just some leftists trolling. Lemmygrad is unapologetic unironic tankies who would support the worst red fash on the planet.

Otoh, In my impression Hexbear is more lighthearted, and has more varied perspectives, and until now seem to behave in our instance, so I haven’t had a reason to defed.

I generally find it positive to have at least some terminally online leftists available to counter the ancaps and crytpofash crawling everywhere.

Keep in mind, this instance doesn’t rely on rigid and perfectly stated rules on who we defed which allow for loopholes. I don’t have the time for that shite. I unapologetically defed instances which I consider problematic from an anarchist perspective.

The same conditions apply to Hexbears like the other instances. Namely: Fuck around and find out.

    Hope this clears things up.

It’s not the political views, it’s the vibe. They dominate conversations, brigade posts constantly, and generally seem to act in bad faith in just about every interaction I’ve ever seen them partake in. Even looking into their posts, about 40% of it is talking about how to make the most noise in the most 4chan-esque, obnoxious way. At what point would you consider that behavior not in line with your threshold for “fuck-arounding?” I’m all for having a reasonable, 2-sided discussion with just about any reasonable differing opinion, even if neither of us changes our views, but that’s not what I’m seeing. I’m seeing megaphones in the form of PNGs that drown out any discussion and generally make everyone else’s experience on Lemmy worse.
